Feeding Pigeons

This B/W photograph I took in 1989 of an old lady feeding hundreds of pigeons in a Hillbrow park,Johannesburg,South Africa.

I find that walking around with a camera can sometimes bring you unexpected photography opportunities,I shot this on black and white film as at the time I was starting photography and found it easier to process and print the pictures myself and it was cheaper for me.

I shot this picture on a 50 mm standard lens as those where the kit lenses at the time,the 50 mm lenses are great as they are very versatile and give you a natural perspective,this lens gives you a natural viewpoint and is very close to what the persons eye sees,in photography they call this lens the nifty fifty.
